Leader: And Jesus said, “The greatest love a person can have for his friends is to lay down his life for them.”

People: We gather to recall the night in which Jesus was betrayed.

Leader: “You are my friends if you do what I command you. This I command you, to love one another.”

People: We gather to share a common table as sisters and brothers.

Leader: “My peace I give to you. Be of good cheer, for I have overcome the world.”

ALL: Even in this hour of darkness we gather to praise the God of our salvation. Amen.
