Curry Turkey Burgers

I went with some friends to Dish It Up in Ballard a few weeks back for a Southern cooking class.  We got some great Southern recipes!  But we also chatted it up with some of the sous chefs and one of them recommended we try making these Curry Turkey Burgers.  They turned out fabulous and I highly recommend them!  Here’s the recipe:

Curry Turkey Burgers

from Dish It Up

Ingredients
1 pound ground turkey breast
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 red bell pepper, finely chopped
1 to 2 carrots, finely chopped
1/2 med. onion, finely chopped
bread crumbs or egg (for binding agent)
coarse salt
2 tablespoons curry powder
barbeque sauce
pineapple rings
hamburger buns or roll

Instructions
1) Combine ingredients and form into patties.
2) Brush or drizzle patties with extra-virgin olive oil. Grill patties 6 minutes on each side on indoor electric grill or pan fry for same amount of time in a large nonstick skillet over medium high heat. Grill desired amount of pineapple rings.
3) Top with barbeque sauce and a grilled pineapple ring, serve on a warm, toasted bun.
