written by my friend kate sweet for our fall forward vespers service.
You are the life-giving Creator of all things;
We thank you for changing seasons and new beginnings.
Bless these seeds and the work of our hands as we practice Ordinary time
And as we enter the new reality of this year.
Just as a small seed lies still and silent, aching for the sun and rain,
So we, too, anticipate the creative movement of your Spirit in this place.
May our roots grow deep and strong,
May we lean into the sunshine and weather the rains,
And like an abundant garden
May we flourish together this year as we produce the fruit of your good grace.
